| Expanding PTL moves to new premises… |
| In January 2008, PTL moved from its Swindon offices to new premises in Watford, just north of London and very close to the important London Orbital (M25) and key motorways (M1/M4/M40). As part of the move, PTL has invested in a new R & D laboratory with advanced test equipment and facilities. The move not only provides the company with important extra space for its offices and enhanced R & D laboratory, but also gives it a more central location with excellent transport links by road, rail and air. PTL is due to launch a series of new products during 2008, including the new JetRite PCB legend printer introduced at Productronica 2007, so the move to the new premises and laboratory comes at just the right time. JetRite, the new UV inkjet system for PCB legend printing, is a joint development between inkjet specialist PTL and KLG Maschinen GmbH, a German company specialising in high accuracy drilling machines for PCB manufacture. Comments Rob Haslett, CEO of PTL: “The extra space and advanced new R & D laboratory are critical for our current and future expansion plans, particularly with new products coming on stream. The move to Watford, with its more central location, will provide us with an excellent springboard for serving the UK and our growing international market with these new products.” Please note our new address and contact details under ‘Contact us’. |
| PTL’s CEO Rob Haslett addresses EIPC Conference in Rome… |
| Rob Haslett, CEO of PTL, addressed delegates at the 2-day EIPC (European Institute of Printed Circuits) Winter Conference in Rome, 24-25 January 2008. The EIPC conferences, which take place on a regular basis, aim to provide a platform for the exchange of information on market conditions and innovations in printed circuit technology. In a multi-speaker session entitled ‘Inkjet: what does the future hold?’ Rob Haslett considered the topic ‘Is Inkjet technology ready for PCB production directors?’. The key points Rob made in his presentation are that inkjet is a complex technology taking in a variety of disciplines, and that to develop and apply it successfully requires a highly collaborative approach. An example of the success of this strategy is JetRite inkjet printer where two specialists in their respective fields, PTL and KLG Maschinen GmbH, pooled their expertise and resources to develop a state-of-the-art PCB legend printer. Rob’s talk was followed by a lively panel discussion which endorsed collaboration as a winning strategy for developing better products for the PCB industry.
